From texture to thickness to density – our hair types vary! It will take a few attempts before you work out the perfect way to wear it. Here’s some important tips to keep in mind.
SCRUNCHIE
Your scrunchie needs to fit your hair well whilst remaining comfortable. if you use a scrunchie that is too loose, your hair can sink and pull. If you use a scrunchie too tight, it can be uncomfortable. You need to find the perfect balance between comfort and fit.
HAIR PLACEMENT
It’s important to flip your hair upside down because this allows you to tie your hair really high up. Tie your hair as close to your forehead as possible. Some strands might fall in your face – but once you put the bonnet on and tuck these strands in, this won’t be an issue. It’s important to tie your hair up high to avoid sleeping on it. If you were to tie your hair at the crown of your head, you could end up sleeping on it and crushing it in your sleep. Keep your hair tied up high that way when you lie down, you won’t lie on it.
ADJUSTABLE TOGGLE
Head size and hair thickness/length will play parts in how tight you need to adjust your bonnet. Use the adjustable toggle to find the perfect fit. It might take some trial and error before you find the perfect fit.
HEADACHES / RUCHED EDGING
We use elastic and ruching in order to provide a soft, gentle feel. We designed our bonnets this way keeping in mind that some individuals easily suffer from headaches. This purposefully gentle finish allows a comfortable experience for everyone – including those prone to headaches.
ALTERNATIVE HAIRSTYLES
The pineapple hairstyle is the most common method, but can also do a ponytail or bun. Whatever you do, ensure that your hair is tied up high on your head and tight enough to stay put.
KEEPING YOUR BONNET ON ALL NIGHT
If your bonnet is falling off, this is most likely due to your hair being tied too loosely or too low on your head. All Luxe Moda bonnets have an adjustable toggle which helps immensely with keeping the bonnet on all night.
