I am a huge fan of natural curly hair products and vegan silk. Together, these products have transformed my curls and allowed me to grow them ultra long. My curls (stretched) currently reach down to my hips!
This article covers the products I used to grow my curls as well as the practises I took on to reduce breakage, allowing my curls to grow long.

1. Wash day
I wash my hair every 4-6 days. My favourite shampoo is Flora & Curl Rose Water & Honey Cream Shampoo. To condition, I love to use Flora & Curl Rose Water & Honey Cream Conditioner.

2. Clarifying shampoo
Clarifying is highly important for textured hair. For a quick clarifying treatment, I opt for Alikay Naturals Caribbean Coconut Milk Shampoo. It rich in coconut oil and coconut milk, giving it a fresh, tropical boost! Enriched with tea tree oil and rosemary oil, it always gives my curls the deep clean they crave.
For an extra potent cleanse, I love using Flora & Curl Coconut Mint Curl Refresh Clay Wash. This clay mask gives a whole new experience! Using a clay mask on my curls feels extra special, so I don’t do it as often, but I love both the results and the experience of using this.
I typically clarify every 3 weeks. It’s important to pay attention to your curls. If they seem loose, weighed down or oily – then it’s time to clarify immediately!

3. Deep conditioner
I deep condition every second wash day. I alternate between 2 deep conditioners. For lasting moisture, I use Alikay Naturals Honey and Sage Deep Conditioner. I notice a massive improvement in my curl pattern after using this. My curls remain soft and shiny all week!
4. Styling
I love switching it up my styling products. I find it really fun to play around with different textures, scents and formulas! Through the dozens of products of tried, 2 in particular have stuck out to me like crazy.
I start by brushing my soaking wet hair. I then squeeze a good amount of Flora & Curl Rose Water & Honey Leave-in Detangler out and rub it between my palms. I gently (emphasis on gently) rake it into my curls. If my hair is still wet enough, I’ll then gently brush the product through my hair. This helps to ensure each strand is well coated.
Once my hair is well-coated, I scrunch it in by small sections. Once my curls have formed a nice, consistent pattern, I go in with my favourite gel.
Flora & Curl Sweet Hibiscus Curl Defining Gel has changed the game of gels for me! This formula is so slippery and not sticky at all. It MELTS into my curls and actually adds extra moisture to them as well. With such a lightweight formula, you’d expect it to have not much hold…wrong! Most lightweight gels don’t offer lasting hold, but this one somehow is able to give lasting hold without weighing down my curls.
With this gel, you get the best of it all: lasting hold, extra definition and even volume. This formula is an absolute miracle! I’ve gone through so many bottles of it and will never go without in my curly hair product collection.
I only need 3-4 pumps. Moderation is key with this powerful formula. I thoroughly scrunch it into my curls.
5. Drying
I don’t diffuse. I don’t have the patience with my long, dense curls. Instead I prefer to air dry it.

6. Sleeping
I sleep with my hair in a vegan silk bonnet. Candy Pink/Noir: Vegan Silk Bonnet (Reversible, Adjustable, & Double Lined) is my favourite colour!
